SAN ANTONIO (KENS) – Loved ones say a woman was around the corner from her home when a pickup truck traveling in the wrong direction hit her vehicle.

Shortly after 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, 28-year-old Karina Ramirez was almost home when a pickup barreled toward her in the wrong lane and never stopped.

In the passenger seat were two little girls: 9-year-old Skylar and 7-year-old Aliyah.

They weren’t her biological kids, but Ramirez loved them like her own.

“She was the best stepmom my grandbabies could ever have,” Eashonne Wolford, the mother of Ramirez’s boyfriend, said.
