JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Saharan dust, also called the Saharan Air Layer, has made the 5,000-mile journey from Africa all the way to Florida.

This was apparent Friday morning with various camera shots around the First Coast during sunrise.

A hazy, orangish hue sunrise was seen from our First Coast beaches Friday, with a similar condition expected for our sunset Friday evening.
