AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) - The Cactus Cove Inn & Suites is set to host a special event Friday to reveal its new public mural during the ongoing Texas Route 66 Festival celebration.

The event is expected to run Friday from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Cactus Cove Inn & Suites, located at 2501 East I-40.

During the event, organizers said the new "Bull + Bloom" public mural will be revealed for attendees. Set to stand as a new Route 66 landmark, the mural is meant to celebrate "Amarillo's Western roots, community spirit, and creative culture."

As noted by organizers, the mural was made possible through the support of Blank Spaces, a local nonprofit organization focused on accessible public art. The mural will be added to Amarillo's vast and growing collection of murals and public art install
