OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEVV) — The City of Owensboro is gearing up for its annual All-American Fourth of July celebration.
The event is set for Friday, July 4th and will kick off at 5 p.m. at Smothers Park on the downtown riverfront.
City officials say live music will begin with Flat Stanley at 5 p.m., followed by the Downtown Band at 7 p.m.
We're told a fireworks show will light up the sky above the riverfront around 9:15 p.m.
In addition to the downtown festivities, organizers say three other firework displays will be launched simultaneously across the city at:
Southern Little League Fields
Owensboro Sportscenter/Moreland Park
Owensboro Warehouse Leasing
Officials say the firework launch sites will be closed to the public for safety reasons.
