Morrow County Prosecutor Andrew Wick will hold a news conference on Friday to share an update on the status of the case involving fallen Deputy Daniel "Weston" Sherrer. The news conference is at noon, according to a post on the Morrow County Prosecutor's Facebook page.

The 31-year-old deputy was killed in the line of duty while responding to a domestic situation on Memorial Day at a home in Marengo, officials say.

Brian Wilson, the man charged with shooting Sherrer, had his initial court appearance on Tuesday, where a judge set his bond at $5 million. He is currently charged with aggravated murder.

A celebration of life was held for Sherrer at Northmor High School on Wednesday. Hundreds of law enforcement agents traveled from across the country to Morrow County for the service.
