The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) has supported Blantyre Youth Office in a campaign to stop drug and alcohol abuse, early sex and child marriages among young people in Blantyre.

This follows the concerns from the Blantyre Youth Office that these behaviors are causing school drop out among many students and also endangering their health wise.

During the campaign in Bangwe Township, District Youth Officer Martha Chilewani, said the situation needs quick action to protect young people and keep them in school.

‘We see many young people loosing their ways, this is a warning and we need to help these young youths so that they can became good citizens,’ said Chilewani.
