TIGARD, Ore. — When Jamison and Christine realized they needed an officiant for their upcoming wedding, they discovered an opportunity that perfectly matched Christine's frugal sensibilities and their timeline constraints.

"Well, me personally, I like anything that's free or discounted," Christine said. "So it was just in my nature to find this."

The couple took advantage of free wedding ceremonies being offered throughout June by Oregon municipal and justice court judges to celebrate marriage equality during Pride Month.

Originally planning their wedding ceremony in Hillsboro on Father's Day, June 15, the couple faced a problem when they realized courts would be closed for the holiday and they hadn't hired an officiant.
