Drivers traveling along Highway 42 near the junction with Queen Elizabeth II Highway (Hwy-2) should prepare for ongoing delays and traffic disruptions due to extensive construction work scheduled to continue through the summer months.
Construction begins today and is expected to run until September with crews working daily from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., including weekends.
The project is taking place west of Hwy-2 near Penhold, and involves a series of activities including lane closures, speed reductions, and an on-site detour.
As a result, the speed limit in the construction zone has been reduced to 50 km/h, and motorists are advised to expect traffic congestion and potential delays.
Authorities are urging drivers to exercise caution when traveling through the area.
