(WHTM) -- Unemployment claims in Pennsylvania increased last week, according to data released Thursday by the U.S. Department of Labor.
The number of new jobless claims in the Commonwealth grew to 10,683 for the week of May 31. That's up by 365 from the previous week.

Overall, new unemployment claims climbed nationally to 247,000 people, according to the report, up by 8,000 from the previous week.
Figures released by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry in May showed Pennsylvania still faces less unemployment compared with nationwide rates. The Commonwealth saw an overall unemployment rate of 3.9% to the national 4.2%.
