Sweden has placed an order for 100 4×4 medical vehicles for the armed forces as part of a framework launched in 2023.

The deal, awarded to Italian contractor Iveco Defence Vehicles, serves as the second order of the initiative’s planned 3,000 light vehicles in 12 different variants based on the company’s flagship Multipurpose Utility Vehicle (MUV).

The project’s initial tranche involved 400 systems: 200 flatbeds, 100 troop transporters, and 100 for medical tasks.

Work for this initiative will run until 2027 and includes an option for five additional years.

The fleet will be delivered with sustainment services and equipment to support its future operability.
