Atlanta-based Emory Healthcare is investing $51 million in a modernized, integrated EHR system following its acquisition of Warner Robins, Ga.-based Houston Healthcare. “By installing Epic, a leading EHR system, clinicians will be able to provide more coordinated care between all Emory facilities, while enhancing both the patient and employee experience,” the health system said in a June 4 news release.
Houston Healthcare officially joined Emory on June 1. The two organizations signed a letter of intent in August 2024 and finalized their definitive agreement in February. In addition to implementing the Epic EHR, Emory rebranded the Houston facilities.
