Crews were dispatched to a three-story home in Pasco County after a fire broke out Thursday afternoon.

Pasco County Fire Rescue said firefighters arrived at the home in the 5000 block of West Shore Drive just before 2 p.m.

PCFR said as the crews were battling the heavy smoke and flames, conditions worsened, which resulted in a near-total collapse of the second and third floors, as well as the roof.

A woman and a child were home when the fire broke out, but escaped safely. No injuries were reported.

PCFR is still investigating the cause of the fire.
