GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - The City of Greenville filed a lawsuit Thursday against Camping World for violating city code regarding the size of the American flag and flagpole it is flying on.

The action comes after Greenville City Council voted 4-2 in March to authorize the City to file a civil action against Camping World.

We’re awaiting specific details on the lawsuit.

The city says a notice of violation was first filed back on October 31st and the Camping World has not appealed that notice and has failed to pay a significant portion of accrued civil penalties.

The city says filing a lawsuit is necessary to remedy the zoning violation and any other pending related code violations.

City Councilmembers Les Robinson and Monica Daniels voted against the resolution back in March.
