A gunshot detection system led officers to a Michigan City apartment complex after shots were fired near 403 Chicago Street. Officers arrived on the scene, around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 1, and as one of the officers walked through the area, a green laser sighting was observed from the upper window of an apartment in the 400 block of Chicago Avenue. Moments later, a gunshot was fired from that window. A perimeter was quickly established around the building, and authorities obtained a search warrant. SWAT teams executed a tactical entry into the apartment, securing the scene and conducting a thorough search.
