LANCASTER, Ohio — A woman was taken into custody after a barricade situation in Lancaster Friday morning.

Lt. Bryan Underwood said officers were called around 7:30 a.m. to a house in the 800 block of Harding Avenue, just south of East Fair Avenue. When officers arrived, a man came out of the house and said a woman inside had threatened him with a weapon.

Underwood said officers attempted to contact the woman, but she did not respond. He added that she had barricaded herself inside the home.

According to Underwood, because of the nature of the situation, the Special Response Team responded to the scene and surrounded the house. The team eventually breached the front door.
