LUBBOCK, Texas -- No injuries were reported inside the City of Lubbock on Thursday night after a severe thunderstorm with tornados swept through Lubbock County, according to a press release from the City of Lubbock.

According to the press release, while no tornado ever touched down in the city limits of Lubbock, there was still a large amount of damage, flooding and debris in roadways. Some 1,400 residents experienced power outages that Lubbock Power & Light and South Plains Electric Cooperative worked throughout the night to restore power.

The Lubbock Police Department, Lubbock Fire Rescue and the City of Lubbock Office of Emergency Management will continue to monitor any conditions and damages to the area.

According to previous coverage, one person was injured outside of the city.
