At long last, David Beckham is on the cusp of receiving his long-awaited knighthood.
Beckham, 50, will be given a knighthood in King Charles‘ birthday honors list, according to reports published by BBC Sport and The Times on Thursday, June 5.
The declaration comes after decades of Beckham being at the forefront of British culture and charity work. The former Manchester United star was appointed an officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2003 and serves as an ambassador for Unicef and the King’s Foundation.
King Charles’ honors list is expected to be announced next week.
