CANTON, Ohio — A 43-year-old man has died after he was struck by a vehicle in Canton late Thursday night at 32nd Street NW and Cleveland Avenue NW.

Canton police say it was around 11:50 p.m. when officers responded to the scene where a 2023 Buick Encore was traveling southbound on Cleveland Avenue NW and struck the pedestrian who was in the roadway.

The man was taken to the hospital, but Canton police say he died early Friday morning just after midnight. His name has not been released pending notification of family.

Police say the Buick’s driver was not hurt.

“Drugs/alcohol are not suspected to be a factor for the driver and it is unknown at this time if drugs/alcohol were a factor for the pedestrian,” according to a press release from Canton police.
