UPDATE: A driver is facing criminal charges after allegedly hitting a pedestrian Thursday in downtown Rochester.

The Rochester Police Department says Darcy Lewis, 35 of Rochester, is accused of criminal vehicular operation. Officers say they suspect Lewis was driving while impaired when he struck an adult male around 5 pm Thursday in the area of 3 Avenue SW and 3 Street SW.

Police say the victim was seriously injured and transported to the hospital.

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KIMT) - The Rochester Police Department confirms a car and pedestrian collided in downtown Rochester Wednesday night. RPD says the call came in at 5:06 p.m.

It happened on 3rd Street and 3rd Avenue Southwest.
