COLUMBUS, Ohio — Two members of a human trafficking ring in Columbus were sentenced to life in prison Friday morning.

In May, 29-year-old James Dukes-Johnson and 22-year-old Michael Davis were found guilty of the following charges:

Engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity

Aggravated murder

Murder

Compelling and promoting prostitution

Trafficking in persons

Felonious assault

Possession and trafficking of a fentanyl-related compound

Dukes-Johnson will have the opportunity for parole after at least 80 years, according to the judge. If he was released, he would have to register as a Tier 2 sex offender. The lawyer representing Dukes-Johnson said they will appeal the sentencing.
