LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A man was arrested after crashing his car into a tree while intoxicated Thursday night, police say.
Ron Leafty, 42, was taken to the Lancaster County Jail for a DUI causing serious bodily injury, driving during a license revocation and a subsequent offense of resisting arrest.
On Thursday just before 7:50 p.m., LPD officers along with Lincoln Fire and Rescue were sent to the intersection of North 60th and Platte Avenue for a vehicle crashing into a tree.
Police say the investigation revealed the pickup, driven by Leafty, was traveling westbound on Platte Avenue at a high rate of speed and tried to turn to go north. The vehicle could not make the turn due to speed, left the road and collided with a tree, according to LPD.
