Weather radios in western Kentucky will be out of service next week for three days while the National Weather Service in Paducah gets a major computer system update.

The Paducah Weather Service office will have a required, scheduled update of their Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System. The AWIPS system displays and integrate weather and water information, and to send life-saving information, such as weather and water warnings, to the public.

Beginning around 8 AM on Monday, all of the NOAA Weather Radio broadcasts provided by the NWS Paducah office will go offline. Broadcasts will resume after the update is completed on Wednesday.
