WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - A Watertown woman is accused of bringing 63 packets of fentanyl into the Jefferson County Jail.

Watertown City Police say 34-year-old Nicole Brown possessed 63 envelopes that contained a brown-powder like substance that field-tested positive for fentanyl inside the jail.

Brown faces charges of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and first-degree prison contraband.

On the same day, Brown was taken in on a couple of driving infractions and three bench warrants.

Brown was transported to the Public Safety Building, processed, and held pending arraignment.
