MORROW COUNTY, Ohio — The Morrow County Prosecutor's Office will seek the death penalty for the man accused of killing Deputy Daniel Sherrer last week if he is convicted.
Prosecutor Andrew Wick announced on Friday that a Morrow County grand jury indicted 53-year-old Brian Michael Wilson on 14 counts. Two of the counts, both of which are aggravated murder, carry specifications that make Wilson eligible for the death penalty, Wick said.
Authorities say Wilson shot and killed Sherrer on May 26. The deputy was responding to a report of a domestic situation on County Road 26 when Wilson allegedly shot him.
Below is the 14-count indictment, according to Wick:
Counts 1 and 2: Aggravated murder
Count 3: Felony murder
Count 4: Felonious assault on a peace officer
Count 5: Felonious assault
