LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A teenager from Grand Island was arrested Friday morning following a three-hour long police pursuit.
Authorities say the 18-year-old was speeding on West O Street in a Toyota Rav4 with no license plates at approximately 2:35 a.m. when a trooper with the Nebraska State Patrol attempted a traffic stop.
The trooper gave chase when the driver accelerated and fled west. After about five minutes, near Northwest 98th street, the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a ditch.
He then fled on foot north into a wooded area. Lincoln police officers and Lancaster County deputies responded to assist in searching for the suspect.
