MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- A Silver Spring man is behind bars after he allegedly stabbed his mother's boyfriend in the chest on Wednesday, police said.

According to the Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD), the incident happened just after 4:20 p.m. on June 4, in the 1500 block of November Circle in White Oak.

An investigation revealed that 23-year-old O’Shea Hunter got into an argument with his mom's boyfriend and allegedly threatened him with a fork. As the argument escalated, Hunter grabbed a knife and stabbed the man in the chest before running into a bedroom, according to police.

The man then entered the room, where police said Hunter hit him with an expandable baton.

When officers arrived at the home, Hunter had already left.
