FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Franklin Police Department is working to combat child hot car deaths with an inside-vehicle reminder.

FPD, alongside an initiative with Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett, is handing out several hundred rear-view mirror tags to remind parents and caregivers: “Look Before You Lock.”

The tags are designed to hang from a vehicle’s rearview mirror and prompt drivers to check the backseat before leaving.
