David Hyde Pierce is no stranger to the theater. In fact, he’s been performing onstage for decades.
“It’s where I started. Before I ever got into television, I was doing theater,” Pierce explains in a sit-down interview with TODAY.com.
Best known for his turn as Dr. Niles Crane on the TV sitcom “ Frasier ,” a role that earned him four Primetime Emmys and scores of other award nominations, Pierce is once again returning to his roots in the Broadway musical “Pirates! The Penzance Musical.”
The limited-run show, which stars Pierce along with Ramin Karimloo and Jinkx Monsoon , is a spirited and joyful revival of the Gilbert and Sullivan classic “The Pirates of Penzance,” and is nominated for a 2025 Tony Award for best revival of a musical.
