When Sally Schwartz reflects on her formative years, it’s the buttery scent of rising dough, the crackle of the fryer and the constant buzz of the kitchen that stand out most.

With deep roots in a family of restaurant and bakery owners across Texas and New Mexico, it felt only natural for Schwartz to follow in their footsteps. Now, she’s turning that legacy into something of her own.

On Friday, Schwartz — alongside her sister Cassie, who manages the business side — opened Dilly Dally Donut Bar, her very own bakery.

To kick off opening weekend, the shop, squeezed between Frontage Road and Interstate 90 east of the Main Street interchange, will be open Friday through Sunday from 7 a.m. until sold out. Soon after, Schwartz plans to expand hours and welcome customers seven days a week.
