STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (WTAJ) -- With wet weather in the forecast, State College Area School District has announced that its graduation ceremony has been rescheduled to Saturday, June 7, at 6 p.m. due to inclement weather.
Originally scheduled for Friday, the district cited the weather forecast, with a high chance of rain and thunderstorms, as the main reason for the change, even if they pushed the event start time back a few hours.
With more sun in the forecast for Saturday evening, the graduation ceremony for the 617 students and their friends and families in attendance should be better.
Commencement will be held at Memorial Field, and students should arrive by 5 p.m. to line up for the procession. The ceremony will be livestreamed for anyone who cannot attend.
