The 36-year-old Chicago police officer fatally shot in the line of duty Thursday night after an "investigatory stop" led to a chaotic scene has been identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner as Krystal Rivera, of Irving Park.
During a news conference overnight, Chicago Police Department Supt. Larry Snelling said Rivera was a four-year veteran of the force, and the mother of a young daughter.
