MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Twins recalled right-handed pitcher Travis Adams from Triple-A St. Paul on Friday.

Adams has played 13 games for the Saints this season. He is 3-1 with a 3.43 ERA (42.0 IP, 16 ER), three saves, 10 walks, 37 strikeouts and a 1.14 WHIP, according to the Twins press release Friday.

The Twins selected Adams out of California State University in the 2021 draft. Friday night's game against the Toronto Blue Jays will be his major league debut.

Adams drew national attention in March when he rescued an 82-year-old man from a burning home in Fort Myers.

The team optioned Kody Funderburk to the St. Paul Saints to make room for Adams on the lineup. Funderburk played in seven games for the Twins this season and allowed eight runs on 15 hits.
