His victim had no idea what had happened until she became aware of the videos

A sex attacker who filmed himself raping a woman as she slept has been jailed.

Trevor Rowlands, known as Joe, kept the footage stored in a sick library on his iPad. A court was told how in August 2018, the 33-year-old attacked his victim at his home despite her previously telling him that she did not want to sleep with him.

She initially chose not to report the incident. However, in March 2019 she became aware of several recordings.

Footage showed Rowlands sexually assaulting the victim as she slept, however the woman had no recollection of the incidents and had not given her consent.

Following the discovery, a second woman confided in the victim that she had also been raped by Rowlands while she was sleeping.
