UPPER SAUCON – Everything went right for the North Penn baseball team. Then for a few innings, nothing seemed to.
It took just two batters into Thursday’s PIAA-6A quarterfinal for the Knights to take a 1-0 lead over Hazleton, Kevin Brace reaching on an error then scoring from first base on Logan Waynick’s double to left center field.
By the end of the first inning, the Knights’ advantage was 6-0. And when the Cougars scored in the bottom of the inning, North Penn responded with three runs in its half of the second, extending the margin to 9-1.
