We’ve received a few emails like Henry’s asking where the cicadas are. We’ve also got some people asking when they’re going away because they’re tired of hearing them.

Cicadas continue to ‘bug’ central Kentuckians
Dr. Jonathan Larson, an entomologist at the University of Kentucky, tells me that in Fayette, there are basically pools of cicadas.
He said they need a few specific things to persist in an area: undisturbed soil and wooded areas, long-lived trees such as oaks and maples. And they tend to be found more frequently near streams, creeks, and rivers.
