The whisky was top-shelf, and so was the crime — smooth, aged, and worth more than half a million dollars.

The Windsor Police Service on Friday announced the arrests of five suspects, with the hunt continuing for two more tied to a $500,000-plus night-time alcohol heist in the city last month.

Investigators said the suspects broke into a fenced-in facility located in the 3300 block of Devon Drive, located near Windsor’s Devonshire Heights neighbourhood, shortly before 9 p.m. on May 17, 2025.

A semi-tractor trailer loaded with more than 1,000 boxes of Crown Royal whisky products was stolen from the site just east of Devonshire Mall.

The empty trailer was recovered the following day abandoned in the 4000 block of County Road 46 in Lakeshore, according to authorities,
