NEWARK, Ohio — A suspect has been indicted more than 35 years after the murder of a 71-year-old Newark woman.
According to Licking County Common Pleas Court records, 67-year-old Delbert Saunders Jr. was indicted by a grand jury for aggravated murder, murder, aggravated burglary, rape and two counts of kidnapping in the 1989 death of Helen Stuart.

According to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, Saunders is currently at the Noble Correctional Institution serving time for a separate case where he was convicted of kidnapping, rape and having a weapon while under disability. He has been there since 2003.
