COLUMBIA, S.C. — The first Whataburger in Columbia's city limits is now moving closer to opening.
This week, the signs on the building, located at 4456 Devine Street, were turned on at night. Crews have been working for months to refurbish and transition the building to a location for the popular burger chain.
News19 reached out to Whataburger for more information on a possible opening date. The company didn't give a specific date but did say it would be opening the restaurant this summer. On Whataburger's company website, it now lists the Devine Street spot as one of its restaurant locations.
