Most U.S. employees are unwilling to take a pay cut, but 4 in 10 active job seekers would accept one in exchange for greater flexibility, alignment and mobility, according to a June 5 LinkedIn News post. LinkedIn surveyed 8,311 U.S. professionals between March 22 and May 16. Among those actively looking for a new job, 42% said they would accept a pay cut if it was at an organization better aligned with their values. The same share said they would accept a lower salary for more opportunities to advance.

Additionally, 41% of active job seekers said they would take the pay cut for more workplace flexibility. That was the top reason among nonactive job seekers, cited by 28% of respondents. A more reasonable workload and better workplace relationships were less common reasons. The post The top
