OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. (WILX) - Sheriff’s Deputies foiled an attempted mass shooting at an Oakland County graduation, the Sheriff’s Office announced Friday afternoon. One suspect is in custody, but another is still wanted.
In a press conference, Sheriff Michael Bouchard said on Thursday, June 3 at 6:40 p.m., a fight broke out at a graduation ceremony held at an Oakland County business. The graduation ceremony was for a charter school in Pontiac.
Deputies were sent to the ceremony, where they made contact with the venue’s security team. A witness would tell authorities that a shooting threat toward the ceremony had been posted on the social media app Snapchat.
