IOWA (KCAU) — Jim Carlin, a former Iowa Senator, has announced his candidacy for the 2026 Senate Race.

Carlin served as a lawmaker from 2017 to 2022. In his announcement, Carlin points a finger at Joni Ernst, indicating she hasn't followed through with her promises.

“Iowans deserve a voice in Washington D.C. who actually listens to them and represents them – not big donors and special interests. More than that, Iowans deserve someone who genuinely cares about them and will work to make their lives better. There are enough self-serving establishment politicians in Washington. President Donald J. Trump needs America First allies, not adversaries," Carlin stated in a release.
