SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - For the first time in western Massachusetts history, all of the mosques in the region came together to pray in one place as around two billion Muslims worldwide celebrate a major holiday: Eid Al-Adha, also known as “The Festival of Sacrifice.”

Thousands of Muslims gathered under the same roof for the Eid prayer on Friday. “It’s absolutely fantastic. This is the actual real tradition where we pray together,” said Imam Mirza Yawar Baig.

The event featured people of all ages and races, from children to the elderly, surrounded by friends, family, and strangers.
