Two Baton Rouge credit unions are set to merge next month when ALEC Federal Credit Union joins Campus Federal Credit Union.
ALEC members approved the merger Thursday, clearing the way for the two credit unions to join July 1 and operate under the Campus Federal name.
“This partnership strengthens our ability to provide the personal service our members expect, while offering broader access, enhanced convenience and expanded financial resources across the state,” said Jane Verret, president and CEO of Campus Federal.
ALEC, which is the Association of Louisiana Electric Cooperatives, was formed in 1968. It is open to employees and board members for 16 electric co-ops across the state, including DEMCO, SLEMCO and CLECO.
