LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Louisville Metro police have arrested a man who they say was involved in a trio of bank robbery cases.

Joseph Derrick Hines, 42, was taken into custody on June 5.

His arrest citation says Hines was the suspect of the May 5, 2025 robbery of the Republic Bank in the 5100 block of New Cut Road, along with the May 21 and June 5 robbery of the L&N Bank in the 4700 block of Southern Parkway.

During each of the robberies, a note demanding cash was presented to the bank employee. At least one of the noted stated “this is NOT a joke.”

The citation says LMPD detectives identified Hines as a suspect after comparing his photo to images from surveillance cameras at each of the robbery locations.
