LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Reports say cancer kills more than 600,000 people per year in the United States. Many times, patients run out of options and are faced with the inevitable.
Doctors at the University of Louisville’s Brown Cancer Center have found that a new cancer treatment is showing promising results.
“I have been living with Stage IV lung cancer for 6 years,” Margie Baylis said.
Baylis’s diagnosis has not slowed her down. She’s living life to the fullest, making memories and riding her motorcycle. Baylis bought the bike in 2021 before starting a treatment, known as TILs.
“TILs stands for tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes,” Dr. Jason Chesney explained.
Dr. Jason Chesney at the Brown Cancer Center says they are working on different treatments, like TILs, to hopefully eradicate ca
