A man who shot at another man last year in Forest City was given a five-year suspended prison sentence Friday for intimidation with a dangerous weapon, a Class D felony,
Jose Alberto Carrera Patino, 31, Forest City, was put on probation for five years. A $1,025 fine was imposed but suspended. He also is required to complete anger management treatment. In addition, he is banned from owning firearms.
He was originally charged with attempted murder following the incident on Feb. 10, 2024, in the 100 block of North Fourth Street.
The victim told police Patino shot at him at least three times, according to court documents. The documents also state police found three bullet marks on the east side of the brick wall of the apartment complex where the victim was living and a small bullet fragmen
