Friday for the Dodgers is the middle game of a stretch of playing 13 days in a row, and Justin Wrobleski was called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City to start the series opener against the Cardinals at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.
This is Wrobleski’s fourth stint in the majors this season. He didn’t pitch when he was active for the first game of the season at the Tokyo Dome in March, but ran the gamut of performance in his two Dodgers outings, both appearances. He gave up eight runs in a spot start on April 8 in Washington D.C., then on May 15 pitched the final four innings of a blowout over the A’s in scoreless fashion to earn the win.
With Oklahoma City this season had a 5.09 ERA with 37 strikeouts and 22 walks in 40⅔ innings. He last pitched on Saturday in Las Vegas, allowing five runs
