Ellington’s 2025 Carnival and Parade has been canceled

ELLINGTON, Conn. (WFSB) - Ellington’s 2025 Carnival and Parade has been canceled.

The Ellington Volunteer Fire Department made the announcement today.

“Due to circumstances beyond our control, the EVFD has made the difficult decision to cancel our annual carnival and parade for 2025,” they said.

The fire department says they lost their ride vendor and have not been able to find a replacement in time.

They explained that events like these take significant planning. Certain aspects of the carnival need to be locked in place with confirmed contracts well in advance.

“We are disappointed that our organization will not be able to provide the community with this time-honored tradition that we have been running almost continuously since 1934,” the fire department said.
