The shooting occurred during a confrontation at the scene at 8 Fair Oaks Drive, near Red Oaks Mill, in Poughkeepsie.

A man was shot by a Town of Poughkeepsie police officer June 5 following a mobile crisis team response to a local residence.

Officers responded around 2:15 p.m. to 8 Fair Oaks Drive in Poughkeepsie, after receiving a report of an active assault.

A man who police did not identify was reported to have been armed with a sword, attacking members of the Dutchess County Mobile Crisis Team who were at the residence, according to a post by the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department on its Facebook page.
