I’ve been a pediatric registered nurse at a Las Vegas hospital for 20 years because I’m passionate about caring for the sickest kids in our community.

Across the state, healthcare workers like me go above and beyond to provide the best possible care to every patient. Despite our best efforts, too often our hospitals do not provide the staffing levels we need to give our patients the care they deserve.

We are facing a deep systemic crisis of understaffing, turnover and burnout, which was aggravated by the pandemic and has never been addressed. At the same time, our state’s population is older , sicker and requires more complex care than ever before.

But now, there is reason for hope.
